Saudi Arabia: King Salman’s visitors

A steady stream of visitors has continued to make its way to Saudi Arabia as world leaders seek to get acquainted with Saudi Arabia’s new king. On 1 March, Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi made an official one-day visit, and was met at King Khalid International Airport by King Salman. Sisi did not attend King Abdullah’s funeral, but did come to see King Salman the following day; he also telephoned him on 8 February following the emergence of an audio recording claiming to show him mocking Gulf rulers.
