Britain’s Queen Elizabeth unveiled a bronze statue of renowned racehorse Frankel on the first day of Royal Ascot on 16 June, commissioned by Juddmonte Farms, the breeding operation owned by Prince Khalid Bin Abdullah Bin Abdelrahman Al-Saud. The statue is one of four of the horse who was unbeaten in his 14-race career, with the others intended for Banstead Manor near Newmarket (where Frankel now stands as a stallion), the National Museum of Horse Racing and York Racecourse. Frankel, who collected almost £3m ($4.7m) in winnings in his three-year career, remains a valuable asset, commanding £125,000 for every foal he sires.
