Having been highly critical of General Dynamics Land Systems–Canada’s reported C$14.8bn ($10bn) deal to sell light armoured vehicles (LAVs) during last year’s election, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal party government is supporting the contract, even though it plans a review of the overall defence sales approval process. “We’ll review the process by which these contracts are assessed in the future. But what is done is done and the contract is not something that we’ll revisit,” foreign minister Stephane Dion said.
