After a three-month standoff with Airbus over the quality of the cabin fittings, Qatar Airways (QA) finally took delivery of the first of ten A380 superjumbos on 16 September, and hopes to have four of the planes by the end of the year. Group chief executive Akbar Al-Baker told reporters in Hamburg that QA had “completely designed every element, giving it a signature touch”; the aircraft has 517 seats, including eight first class, and 48 business. QA is also expecting to start taking delivery of A350s by the end of 2014.
