Qatar: Emir Sheikh Tamim holds meetings with dignitaries

At a time when Qatar is facing international scrutiny for its isolation within the Gulf Co-operation Council, sparked by the withdrawal of the Saudi, Emirati and Bahraini ambassadors, Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani has held a number of meetings with visiting dignitaries – as well as making and taking phone calls to and from leaders in the region and beyond. On 12 March, secretary-general of the Organisation of Islamic Co-operation Iyad Bin Amin Madani visited him in Al-Bahr Palace, and the next day he held talks with Tunisian interim Prime Minister Mehdi Jomaa.
