Qatar: Abdullah Bin Hamad launches port

Deputy Emir Abdullah Bin Hamad launched Qatar’s new port on 26 February, revealing the name – Hamad Port – and immersing the port’s basin. A partial opening of the port, which will help increase capacity of the current port of Doha, is scheduled before the end of 2015. The new port in Mesaieed is 4km long, 700m wide, and 17m deep, and able to house the biggest vessels in the world.
