Oman: Qaboos and Biden on the phone

Sultan Qaboos Bin Said Al-Said held a telephone conversation with US vice-president Joe Biden on 17 July. In a ‘Readout’ of the call, the White House said Biden expressed his and President Barack Obama’s “gratitude for the Sultan’s support of the nuclear negotiations with Iran that resulted in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action” and “for Oman’s role in helping to advance a political settlement in Yemen”. Both men “pledged continued close co-operation… to advance regional peace and stability”.
