Issue 985 - 22 Jan 2015 | 1 minute read

On 5-6 January, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi made his first official visit to Kuwait since his election. Sisi, whose delegation included foreign minister Sameh Shukri, oil minister Sherif Ismail, investment minister Ashraf Salman and minister of international co-operation Najla Al-Ahwani, was given the Order of Mubarak Al-Kabeer by Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, who held a banquet in his honour. The two-day visit included official talks at Bayan palace, attended by Crown Prince Nawaf, Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak and foreign minister Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad. The emiri diwan said the talks “were held in a cordial atmosphere, which reflected the desire of the two sides to further cementing relations”.
