Kuwait: Media suspension

The Ministry of Information has cancelled the licences of three television channels – Al-Watan, Al-Watan Plus and Al-Watan Ghanawi - operated by Kuwait Media Group (KMG), whose Al-Watan newspaper is seen as critical of the government. KMG had its licence revoked in January by the trade ministry, which said its capital had fallen below required limits. Al-Watan had already been suspended for a while in 2014, after it reported on the so-called coup-plot case
