King Salman: Foreign officials

Over the past three weeks, King Salman has held meetings with a number of foreign officials. He received Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon on 3 January, when agreements and memorandums of understanding were signed. On 30 December, the monarch received Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, providing an opportunity for Salman to affirm the kingdom’s stance on the Palestinian cause. A day earlier, King Salman met Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who has recently been in Doha for extensive talks with the Qatari leadership; military and other co-operation was on the agenda.
