Kenya: Seismic planned for Block 2A

Issue 321 - 15 Apr 2016 | 1 minute read

Essel Group Middle East and Simba Energy have given Oman-based Africa Geophysical Services a contract to acquire 500km of 2D seismic on Block 2A. Preliminary field work will start by the end of April 2016, with the full survey starting in early May. The work will take just over two months to complete, and a drilling programme is planned for later in 2016. Essel Group, a conglomerate whose interests are mainly in television and packaging, farmed into the block in 2015, with an agreement to earn a 60% stake by funding two wells (AE 314/13).
