Iraqi Kurdistan: Monde fights on against WesternZagros

Issue 1021 - 09 Sep 2016 | 2 minute read

Calgary-based oil independent WesternZagros Resources (WZR) is facing further court battles with Monde Petroleum, a consultancy company owned and run by Iraqi-British businessman Yassir Al-Fekaiki. Monde is appealing a recent UK High Court judgement which awarded it damages of just £1 after ruling that WZR’s Cyprus-based subsidiary, WesternZagros Ltd (WZL), had tricked Fekaiki into agreeing the termination of a potentially valuable consultancy services agreement. Monde’s appeal is likely to be heard in July 2017.
