The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) that has emerged from the 14 July agreement between Iran and the P5+1 group of five UN Security Council permanent members plus Germany is a big document. As a point of entry, US President Barack Obama’s initial remarks delivered at the White House provide a convenient start to understanding what is a comprehensive agreement on a very specific issue. “This deal meets every single one of the bottom lines that we established when we achieved a framework this spring,” Obama said.
