Iran: Slovenia reopens embassy

Slovenian President Borut Pahor and foreign minister Karl Erjavec – on a visit to Tehran – accompanied FM Mohammad Javad Zarif at a ceremony marking the reopening of the Slovenian embassy in Tehran on 23 November. The legation had closed in March 2013 in response to austerity measures in Slovenia and the sanctions-induced downturn in business. In meetings on 22 November, Pahor was not only hosted by President Hassan Rouhani, but also by Rahbar (Supreme Leader) Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
