Ghana: Clontarf reaches deal in Tano dispute

Ireland’s Clontarf Energy announced on 17 July that an agreement has been reached with the Ghanaian authorities in a dispute over the Tano 2A Block. A petroleum agreement signed in March 2010 awarded Tano 2A to Pan Andean Resources, a consortium made up of 60% Clontarf, 30% Petrel Resources and 10% local interests. The agreement had been awaiting ratification by the cabinet and parliament. In March 2014, parliament ratified an agreement giving Houston-based, Nigerian-owned Camac Energy and Ghanaian partner Base Energy the Expanded Shallow Water Tano Block, covering some of the same area.
