Tajik premier Kokhir Rasulzoda was in Doha in mid-September for meetings with Emir Sheikh Tamim and Prime Minister and interior minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Bin Khalifa Al-Thani. Although diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in 1994, and Tamim’s father, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa, visited Tajikistan in August 2007, it was not until July 2013 that a Qatari ambassador was appointed to Dushanbe. In late 2014, Qatari Diar launched the sale of Diar Dushanbe, its 68,000m2 mixed-use development in Tajikistan – its first real estate development to allow foreign ownership.
