Dr Lawrence Musaba: pioneer of the pan-African power industry

Lawrence Musaba, who died following an illness on 14 March, was a quiet man, who carried his considerable learning with a graceful modesty, but made a very large public impact as the driving force behind the Southern African Power Pool (SAPP).The SAPP tribute summed him up, saying Musaba “was a true champion and had great passion for the energy sector in southern Africa. He devoted his life and was dedicated to the principles of fairness in addressing the challenges of the power situation in the Southern African Development Community.” Corporate tributes rarely tell it so well.
