The most specific allegations made to GSN about Emirati and Egyptian involvement in recent air raids on Libya (see main story) came from a Gulf-based political analyst who said “the UAE used Mirage 2000s flown by Emirati pilots using Al-Tariq missiles (MK81-82-83)”. He added that “the Mirage 2000s took off from an airbase in western Egypt”. It is technically possible that the airstrikes took place in this way. The UAE certainly has the assets and capability to mount such an operation.
