Sheikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa recently visited the University of Oxford, allegedly to discuss his application to study there. A 28 May report in the university’s student newspaper, The Oxford Student, said the prince had apparently met officials at Wadham College, though it noted that the rumour he wanted to study there was unconfirmed. “Applications for all Oxford courses are always treated in confidence,” a university spokesperson said. Prince Nasser, who is head of the Bahrain Olympic Committee and an excellent equestrian, visited the university sports grounds, and was presented with a gift by the Oxford Sports Federation president.
