Another Arab investor in English football

While both Arab candidates, Sheikh Salman Bin Ibrahim Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa of Bahrain and Prince Ali Bin Al-Hussein of Jordan failed in their efforts to become FIFA president, another wealthy family from the region, the Jordanian Al-Qadi family, have recorded a success, buying into a historic English football club, Bristol Rovers, which has under-performed for many years and is in Sky Bet League Two. Jordan FA member Wael Al-Qadi – an important member of Prince Ali’s team – been named club president, with former Swansea chairman Steve Hamer as chair.
