Algeria: Licensing round delayed by one month

Issue 279 - 17 Jun 2014 | 1 minute read

Algeria’s hydrocarbons authorities have recognised that the original timeline established for the 2014 licensing round was too tight to enable companies to evaluate the perimeters on offer and to secure the necessary internal corporate approvals to make a bid possible. Regulator Agence Nationale Pour la Valorisation des Ressources en Hydrocarbures (Alnaft) has consequently postponed the deadline for the submission and opening of bids by one month, from early August to early September.Following a series of meetings between international oil companies and Alnaft to clarify terms and regulations, the deadline for final proposals on potential changes to the contracts has been put back to 19 June.
