Algeria: Changes at the top of state companies

The announcement on 24 May that Amine Mazouzi had been appointed president director-general (PDG) brings a very low-profile official – serving as director of strategy, planning and reporting since 2008 – to the head of Sonatrach. The man expected to be confirmed in the post, Saïd Sahnoun, had developed a significant reputation in the industry during a long period as head of upstream and, since July 2014, as interim PDG.
