Regional: Loan agreement for green energy projects

South Africa’s Standard Bank on 27 March signed a $250m loan agreement with the Japan Bank for International Co-operation (JBIC). The credit line is co-financed by Mizuho Bank, with JBIC providing a partial guarantee for the co-financed portion. The funding will be used by Standard Bank to on-lend to green energy projects in sub-Saharan Africa.
