Mohammed Bin Salman: More strings to his bow

Deputy Crown Prince and defence minister Mohammed Bin Salman (MBS) has taken on yet another role, this one reflecting an interest in improving efficiency, and has surrounded himself with McKinsey & Company consultants. The cabinet on 19 October established the National Centre for Measuring the Performance of Government Agencies, which aims to approve the efficiency of government agencies and will be governed by a council headed by MBS. “The centre is new but MBS already has a reputation for [accumulating] performance reports, [red, amber, green] RAG ratings etc,” one observer said.
