Egypt: Equipment tender

East Delta Electricity Production Company (EDEPC) is seeking bids from international companies for mechanical equipment and piping installation for the conversion of the West Damietta and El Shabab gas-fired power stations to operate under combined cycle technology. EDEPC plans to expand the existing 1,000MW El Shabab plant to 1,500MW, and West Damietta to 750MW from 500MW. Commercial operation is expected in 2016.The work is financed by the Islamic Development Bank and European Investment Bank. Bids are due by 22 January.
